Shrub / Bush ID Please

Hey everyone Got this shrub in the back garden, I didn't do anything with it last year but it's a bit big and messy now. I want to keep it but need to ID it and see if it's right time of year to cut back. Not best of photos but hope its good enough to ID

you can gather it all up in one hand  ponytail style and just chop the top off back to about 12" 300mm, depending if you're old , or new school.

Nice double white hellebore - is that Mrs Betty Ranicar?   that's just how mine looks at the moment. image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • OK cool, thanks for thr help everyone. Will give it a good chop tomorrow. Chop back hard like Hostafan states and hopefully will come back looking nice this summer.

Dovefromabove thank you, really big fan of hellebores. Not sure which variety it is, will check.
