We use a company called Green Thumb here in south west UK. It's probably a franchise so there may be a firm near you. They come and measure the size and state of your lawn and then come 4 times a year and give the season appropriate weed or feed treatments. It's about £20 per treatment, so around £100 pa for us and it's worth every penny. It's worth trying to sort out the drainage as much as you can first, but it's always a struggle on clay (like ours is as well).
