Hi,

When do I pinch out the tops ?

I live in Northern Spain and the temps here range from 17 degrees down to 0 at the moment.

They have been in the tubs for a month now and seem to be doing fine.

    I don't pinch the tops out of mine until they are in the ground, well grown, fruiting and are about 4' tall.

    I do the same as Lyn - I pinch out the tops (and steam and serve with butter) when the first bean pods have set.


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
