Is this the start of Escallonia leaf spot?

I was going to plant this out tomorrow, the saw the yellowing leaves.  Only on very few leaves - is it anything to worry about or have I gone shrub disease paranoid?

I don't think it's anything to worry about.  Evergreen shrubs like Escallonia loose leaves continually and these are probably be the next to go.  Meanwhile lots more will grow.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Mine had definite black spots as well as yellowing leaves.  Can't see any spots on yours and the other leaves look really healthy.  I would remove any yellow leaves and see what happens.

Just a random yellow one Andy - pick it off. It's quite normal for evergreens to shed some, as Redwing says.

I love your description - 'have I gone shrub disease paranoid'  image

    Thanks for the reassurance all.

Going to be a big day of planting out tomorrow and I just want everything to be perfect!

I should probably have posted in the design forum first to check my plans weren't too stupid, but too late now.  Maybe I'll ask for your thoughts after I've done the deed and wait for the howls of laughter image

If you're unsure of where you're putting anything Andy - get a pic on and/or ask for advice before you go ahead. There's always someone around who can reassure or help, and it might save you having to move something later on. Most of us have done that at some point.

I'll probably post a pic of everything I have to plant tomorrow.  I've booked the day off work so have to be efficient - I guess if i'm told I've put things in the wrong place afterwards I can always move 'em image

Most plants are pretty forgiving Andy.

Unless it's something  like a plant which likes full sun and well drained being put in a bog garden .
