New garden

Recently moved and the house is on a fairly new estate so I am limited what boundaries I can put up, but I can put a small hedge round my boundary to determine the garden from the footpath, I want something that is evergreen and doesn't grow to large ( a foot at the most) and is resistant to any infections, ideas please.

Try ilex crenata. It can be trimmed like a box hedge but doesn't suffer from box blight. Or you could go for Euonymus which comes in variagated forms and can be kept as a low hedge.
