Myrtle Communis

I bought a small (20cm) myrtle communis in the autumn which looked very healthy.  I have kept it in the garage not far from the glass door to provide light.  The leaves are now turning black from the point inwards towards the stems.  Can anyone advise why this might be?  Can I do anything or should I just start over.
