I wonder, although I may know answer already, if I could plant asparagus crowns in large tub (half cut sherry barrel). It's big and would be easy to keep undisturbed and weed free. I have a big garden and don't want to dig up more plots...thank you.

I wanted to know the answer to this too. I had an asparagus plot and it got over run with bindwind that I couldn't dig out because of the asparagus roots. Gave up in the end. But the asparagus was better than any I'd bought.
