Black Scott Pine

Hello folks, I have a very large black scott pine on my garden's boundary, fabulous tree, much loved, however the tree does drop needles and has a large RPA (root protection area) My question is can anyone advise me of suitable plants that would be happy to grow beneath the tree, large area! Kind regards Loopymouse

I have heard of Black Pines and of Scots Pines but never a Black Scots Pine. If it is a Scots Pine it shouldn't cast too much shade. The pine needles acidify the soil, so ericaceous plants that tolerate dry conditions should do well such as heathers.
