Don't plant those laurels and aucuba, (I'd rather look at a warehouse tbh), get something interesting and attractive planted within your garden and look at that instead of the warehouse.

If you let yourself dwell on the bits you don't like it will spoil your enjoyment of the garden
I'd rather have that than the row of houses behind me. Plant more 'internally' and have some features which draw your eye in a different direction. A really good focal point at one side for instance - Janie's suggestion of a pergola or something similar is the best idea. The more interesting you make your garden, the less you'll notice the wall.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
