Japanese BloodGrass
I have Japanese Blood Grass in my garden which has lots of dead leaves should I cut it to the ground or just leave it. I have looked in my garden books but none of them say anything about whether or not to cut it down.

If you mean Imperata ( not sure about the spelling ) you should cut just above ground before the new shoots appear, but not too soon if it's still frosty.
Japanese blood grass - sounds kamakazi to me .....hehe
Thanks for your help I knew I could depend on you. I will cut them down this weekend.
I bought five from the wonderful Knoll Gardens last year - they didn't do much, but I've just cut them back and can see new growth. Hoping for lovely colouring this year.
