Can anyone ID this pond insect for me?
Clearing leaves out of the school pond today I found lots of these.

Does anyone know what they are ? I thought it may be mayfly larvae but don't think so having checked online. Can't seem to find anything to match it when searching.
Thank you for any help.

I think it's an immature form of one of the Diving beetles, possibly Gt Diving Beetle. They take quite a while to transmogrify in several stages from the larvae to the mature beetle.

It looks like Asellus aquaticus or water hoglouse. Its a bit like an aquatic woodlouse.
Yeah it is a water hoglouse. They arent very pretty creatures but I just leave them.
