whats-this-small-tree-the-bumblebees-love

Hi, can anyone tell me what this tree / woody shrub is? It has 'flakey' bark and clusters of fragrant small white flowers in July and August and is great for bees. It is about 10ft tall. Many thanks, N.

Looks like Escallonia iveyi so is really an overgrown shrub. Looks nice like that tho image

  • Many thanks addict, the search for its identity has been driving me nuts. I took a cutting last year but it's very slow growing. Might have flowers on it in 5 years or so.

I might be moving house soon and i'd like a more mature specimen in the new garden.

    Best wishes,

    N.
