I compost all weeds, except bindweed, ground elder and couch grass.

Others avoid things like Dock and other perennial weeds., but I've never had a problem

As long as they aren't flowering or gone to seed or perennial. You could put them in a bucket and soak them in water, make a liquid feed with themimage

I have to be honest i'm not up to scratch when it comes to variety of weeds i googled what Hostafan1 mentioned and looking at the photo's i only have couch grass and dock.

i have dug up one weed and the root system tends to go off in all directions which was a pain to dig up what is it?

    Thanks

    Baz

I've just googled bindweed roots and they look like them.

I'll think I'll play it safe and just burn them

    Thanks for your input

bindweed roots tend to snap if you pull them, they're kinda brittle. If in doubt dump it  in the council recycling bin.

Please don't, one may escape into someone's garden! Burn them, horrid things, I hate them. They disappear under my stone walls and come out when I'm not looking. Destroyed my asparagus bed.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
