imageWe've had the opportunity to sow in a really big (warm) greenhouse, to get an early start of the season. Unfortunately  10 days later, we found all had been eaten by mice. How can we avoid this disaster from happening again?

Sounds like it's not your greenhouse - what do the owners do? In a really big, warm greenhouse there could be a lot of mice, which makes humane methods of disposal rather futile.

Depends what and how much you are sowing I guess. I use small square pots for most seed, you can fit 15 in a standard seed tray, plastic propagator lid, should be safe, you could always use a bit of duck tape to secure. I stand trays in a  gravel tray to help with watering. Otherwise - traps. Bait with chocolate (or crocus corms!).

Peanut butter is an excellent bait for traps. It's them or us!!

And fill in all the gaps around the base of the greenhouse with small stones!

Oh, and I agree with Welshonion. Peanut butter for bait.

I know you've lost weight, but it'd still have to be a pretty big trap for you image

But I can't stand peanut butter - I'd have to buy a jar just for the mice!
