Done it. It was hard to get out. The rose roots had penetrated the bedrock (brick rubble) but my fork/spade couldn't so lost a certain amount of root. Cut it back good and hard to compensate for root loss. Buried the onion (sic) and it looks much happier. I hope for a successful outcomeimage

I bought 2 last year ( Munstead wood and Graham Stuart Thomas ) and potted them on into slightly bigger pots as I had nowhere to plant them. They were in the polytunnel all season and ended up rooting into the soil below.

Repotted them into larger pots and will get them planted this spring.

    Devon.

We'll be arriving at OH's mum's on the Saturday evening, taking up her hall carpet on the Sunday and hopefully meeting up with niece after school on the Monday, so we should have Monday daytime free if MIL hasn't found more jobs for OH.  Otherwise we'll be travelling back Tuesday morning and could travel via your place.

I like Swinesmeadow - great selection of plants image
