Plant identification & salvation

Hi,
We were bought this plant as a moving in present last April but in the last couple of months it's started to fade and despite watering and putting in sunlight it seems to continue to deteriorate.
Firstly, can anyone help me identify it as I lost the tag? Secondly, any ideas how I can save this plant?

Well I'm not sure which palm it is however in general indoor palms are over watered by most people. Indirect light is best with infrequent watering during the darker months and increased during the summer months.
Looks a bit like a pygmy date palm I had. Sorry I cant give any advice, mine died, but I think it was a draft that finished it off.
To be honest I thought I'd underwatered it because I didn't water it for months but it seemed to start dying off so I watered it and no change. Nothing I try seems to work.
