Cucumber confusion

OK so my cucumbers two years ago were sweet and juicy. Last year they were bitter and horrible (different seeds) .  am I supposed to grow all female or the other type to avoid this ? Poly tunnel grown, I don't get much time to get out there so needs to be pretty maintenance free.

You can grow all female varieties or pick the male flowers off, but with a lot of the outside ones it doesn't seem to matter.

You need an all female F1 variety such as Pepinex or Cucino. The seeds are expensive, around a pound each, but save a,lot of bother. Cucino are very prolific.
