Physalis franchetti (Chinese Lantern)
Hello. I have a pack of physalis Franchettii which contains 5 long stems with shoots and roots on them..I have never seen anything like this before for. How do I plant them in either a pot or ground? Bulbs I know how to plant but these are like root cuttings. I can'tfind aanything on the net. Are they invasive? Are they tropical? Thanks Steve

They are hardy and invasive if happy. They creep along by root extension.
Lovely seed pods, little to offer otherwise. I love them.
Seen here trying to overcome a sedum

Physalis alkekengi / franchetti aka Chinese Lanterns. Not to be confused with the physalis that you buy to eat in the supermarkets. I don't know if you can eat these but I don't.
I think I'd pot these up and nurture them till leaves appear. Maybe soak them for a couple of hours to rehydrate. A dry packet isn't a good place to be if you're a plant

I start from the tree in the tool bar. You can't upload from a phone, or so I'm told, I've never tried.

Have you got a toolbar over where you type? 2nd from the right, there is what I'm told is a tree. I thought it was a green wine glass
