What to grow behind my partners 'bike washing area'

Hi!

I am a total amateur gardener and am planning the garden in my new house for this year.  I think I have some ok ideas, but don't know what I can plant behind a patch of concrete where my partner washes and repairs his mountain and motor bikes.  The plants would probably have to be robust and pretty low maintenance, I think...

Best wishes,

Lizzie

Look at what weeds [ sorry plants] survive at the edges of motorways or close to areas where vehicle maintenance occurs and try the growing those tough survivors. Trouble is they could spread to the rest of your garden.

  • Does your partner use any "chemical" cleansers when washing the bikes and does he empty/allow run off into the patch you want to plant ?  That could limit your planting if so.
Otherwise a bit more info on the soil type and aspect may help with suggestions  :)

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Not so much an "outfit" as a bit of strategically placed ribbon.

    Who wore it better?

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
