Hosta where did you buy your Coral Sunset peony from? What size was the plant that flowered for you last year?
Frank My other peonies are in my mixed borders which are full of roses and various perennials especially hardy geraniums, astrantias, day lillies ,japanese anenomes and bulbs such as alliums and lillies, also a few shrubs such as phyladelphus and various climbers so there is always beauty and scent. I would liken my daughter to an English rose. Beautiful, fragrant ,strong and if you're not careful a little bit prickly.
Aym280 l do have bearded irises that rebloom . My irises are planted in my back garden which is south facing. My soil is Devon clay which has been well improved with grit, sand, horse poop and compost for many years. I've planted them with the rizome showing on a slight ridge towards the front of the border. After flowering I remove old flower stems, feed with fish blood and bone, add a thin top dressing of compost and water well . Then if we get lucky with the sunshine they will send up a few more stems in a few months time. The irises that rebloom for me are Desert Echo, a warm yellow scented iris, Immortality , a white tall iris and I've a lovely purple iris really scented, whose name escapes me at the moment.
