I was wondering what plants would do well hung indoors? I am particularly interested in hanging some in my little kitchen (where they would get a good bit of humidity), but any info/advice would be awesome.
My daughter bought me a Kalanchoe plant that is in a Kokedama and hanging in our kitchen, they like lots of natural light and humid conditions. They are super pretty!
The Hoya sounds awesome aym280! Going to have to go and check that out!!
If you go for a Hoya you need Hoya bella, which has dainty small leaves, not Hoya carnosa which is a much heftier plant. Sadly, Carnosa is much easier to come by. Burncoose do H. bella, but there it's the price that is hefty I found a supplier on ebay and received a cutting which has grown well for me, in my south facing back porch, above a radiator. The flowers are really pretty and smell gorgeous. For something cheap and cheerful you could try chlorophytum, or tradescantia, neither of which mind lower light levels. Or for some flowers this summer, try Black eyed Susan, Thunbergia alata, easy from seed and can be trained up the chains as well as hanging down. Or an ivy leaved pelargonium... I hope you have a kitchen with lots of headroom
I got a well rooted cutting with 2 or 3 little branches for much less than a small plant from a well known nursery. I planted it up straight away and it has grown steadily since - I can't now remember if it was 2 years ago or 3, I'm old enough now that they start to blur It now has 3 long main branches with lots of side shoots and more coming along, but it will still be another year or three before it makes a full basket.
You don't say if you want flowers. I found the creeping fig a nice one - no flowers. Likes humidity, but have to keep up the watering.
It can be like ivy, one strand climbed up the wall, and before I knew it I had it growing across the ceiling and branching out. It looked great but didn't do the paint work any good.

How much light would the plants get in your kitchen?
