Planting alongside alliums for a spring display
in Plants
My Alliums which were planted as plants last spring have begun to sprout once again. Whilst I enjoyed a display of flowers, the leaves were unsightly but there was little established at that time of the year to provide useful foliage coverage.
Is there anything which will establish and grow early to give a good display in a sunny border alongside them?

I use smaller shrubs like Hebes in front of mine cc. There are lots of perennials you could use too, or grasses. Geraniums are always good, Sedums - the bigger ones (iceplant) and I've also used some of the smaller Euphorbias in front of them in a previous garden.
The allium foliage can be a bit unsightly
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Mine are in a partly shaded area with Geraniums, Brunnera, Astrantia and Pulmonaria. They take the eye away from the less attractive foliage but offer a good foil to the flowers.
