Has anyone managed to grow healthy aquilegia's after having downy mildew?

Last year all of my aquilegia's got downy mildew.  I recorded it with Touchwood who are tracking the disease across the country.

I have now spotted a new aquilegia in the flowerbed that so far looks okay, what are the chances it isn't infected ?  I dug up and got rid of all the plants last year so not sure where this one has appeared from.

Would love to have them back in the garden, just wondered if anyone had any experience of the Aquilegia downy mildew ?

Thank you.

The new seedling may have come from a seed that has been in the soil for a while. It may be resistant to the aquilegia downy mildew or it may succumb. You can only wait and see. If you have a resistant strain, then that may be the start of a new collection. The mildew may not be spread by seed. I had a load of seed from touchwood two years sgo, so far I have had no signs of the downy mildew.
