Flowering shrub for awkward sunny spot?
At the front of our house there is a little patch of bare earth at the end of the laurel hedge (please see photo below) I want to put something in it, ideally long-flowering to give a bit of colour as it is the entrance to the house. Ideally also evergreen so that the patch of earth doesn’t look bare again during the winter.
But I am really stuck for ideas as it’s such a small awkward place to fill. Any ideas much appreciated

I'd plant aubretia there
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
How about the prostrate rosemary, you'd get the scent and blue flowers as well.
I like the idea of something flopping down over the stones. Prostrate rosemary or aubretia as have been suggested would look nice as would a helianthemum. Wisley Pink is a pretty variety.
Thank you!
These are all great suggestions - I've been googling furiously to have a look at them all. I like the idea of something spilling over the edge like aubretia or helianthemum, rosemary and hebe are great ideas too.
As a bonus this googling of your suggestions has allowed me to ID a mystery plant I had in my back garden - I have now discovered it is a pink helianthemum!
Thank you so much!
