fuzzy/woolly-aphids
I have what seem to be fuzzy/woolly white aphids on 7 of my housebound orchids. A neighbour suggested spraying them with a light methylated spirit mist, but so far this has failed to control them. Would any contributors have a better suggestion to rid me of these sticky pests? Thanks

You might find it easier to dab them with insecticide on a cotton wool bud - make sure that you use an insecticide that is suitable for woolly aphid, though. Provado Ultimate Bug Killer should get rid of them.
The Meths thing works but only if you actually dab the stuff on the aphid. No insecticide really works as they are protected by the wax (wool) so it just runs off.
