Osteopernum ?

Hi guysimage what a lovely day so at last doing gardening and not just browsing

I have a font full of last year's'Os which I should have removed and potted up image

Now they have got baby plants growing from nearly every 'growing point up the stems

What should I do ?can they   be rooted or do I have to cut them off to the closest to the main stem

That would be such a shame as each one looks so healthy and is about the size of a tennis ball

  • Thanks Verdunimage  yes they have no roots so must use as cuttings  do I leave all the leaves or just the top ones and do I have to pinch the centres out on those

Also can I pot up the main plants or poss plant them in the garden they gave such a lovely show last year imageimage

  • Oh forgot t ask do they need heat or just a cold greenhouse image

I had so many cuttings from pruned Osteospermum jucundum one year that I just put them straight in the ground where I wanted them and left them over the winter, some died but most grew and I had plenty more cuttings over the summer to fill in the gaps. The following July they looked like this:-

By the end of the summer they had filled the whole bed and I have just cut them all back ready for this year.
