Portuguese Laurel

I planted 10 of the above 25 months ago as a hedge and the individual plants are now between 2 1/2 foot and 3 foot tall

? When do i do the first pruning and any tips please

Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

    Hi NewBoy - I'd have given them a little prune last year to get them bushing out, but it's not really a problem. They're very tough so you can prune almost any time. If you nip out the growing tips of each one, it helps them spread. A general feed, water if necessary, and a mulch, are things that help most hedges.

    I like to clear away any debris at the foot of hedges too, but it depends on your own situation and preference.  Some people like to leave leaf litter etc for wildlife. I do that in areas where the hedge isn't on general view to the public  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
