It's worth looking in the back of the shed for the knee protectors that the kids used to have with their skate boards - not pretty but effective when crawling about on the lawn after weeds
I use builders knee pads - nice shade of yellow, and cheap. They are so comfortable I sometimes start to walk home with them still on. Couldn't do without them as I have bony knees which pick out the smallest piece of grit. I also have a spare pair which are for ladies. Feather light and very effective in use. Both sets use velcro fastenings.

hi I have a kneeler and seat combined ,,,but I use knee pads as well makes life easy and nice Michael
kneeler/ seat thingy for me too, wouldn't be without it
I have kneeler pad/ blocks and also use knee pads the memory foam ones that Velcro around nice and comfy and can get them in a colour you like
