Is this a purple leaved elder ?

A friend has this in her garden and someone has suggested it is a purple leaved elder.

The sounds about right as the leaves look like elder, but yet when I look it up on line the leaves look to be the wrong colour, ie too green for purple leaved elder.

Any ideas ?
