Nice day

Spent most of the morning and afternoon up the allotment today. Lovely day, cloud but no wind, warm enough to take off two layers. Did loads, mainly checking the poly tunnel frame and fitting new planking ready for the new cover. Preped the 5 bags ready for the new potatoes next month and managed to buy 5 bags of compost at a good price. Baby leaves sprouting on the Blueberries and Apricot so blossom not far away. No frost down here in South Cornwall but overnight frost in the North. Fleece at the ready.

yes been nice and sunny in Lancashire today, bit chilly when a cloud passes over though. minus 4 on the maxi / min thermometer inside greenhouse last night so everything frozen this morning including me.

  • I'm Envious, I haven't had a chance to get in the garden and properly work this year just yet because by the time I get home from work its dark! but as the days are now starting to draw out I should get a perfect opportunity soon!

My garden is an absolute mess as the weather here in the East has been brutal on the garden!

Also my dog has had great pleasure in digging up the lawn.... AGAIN! image

Freezing again today after days and days of rain which have left the garden too sodden to work in or on.   We've had some sunshine but also black clouds with rain hail and snow in turn today.

Sunny again now but down to 0C and getting dark soon.

Managed some digging this morning in the sunshine, frost last night, cloudy now with moisture in the air, hope it is fine in the morning to enable me to complete digging the potato plot, the potatoes are chitting in the glasshouse, earlies Wilja and Maincrop King Edwards, bought our first potatoes this last weekend since June last year the same for onions. had a good crop of both.
