I have suffered major problems with badgers digging up my lawn for several years. At first we fed them with peanuts and peanut butter sandwiches in the hope they would leave the lawn alone but they ate the food then did the lawn! Tried various ultra sonic devices -all useless - eventually had to erect very tough wire fences which were effective although still miss hand feeding the badgers.
Re nematodes:- Have used these for 3 years now. My lawn is around 140 square metres and I go to great trouble to ensure complete coverage. First I mark out the main area into small areas of a few square metres(I bought steel skewers) and then a large ball of white butchers string -all from the internet- and my lawn then resembles a giant chequer board but I can then easily ensure each area gets well soaked. I do this twice a year and have been free from attack by crane fly and chafer grub ever since.
