I agree with you Alan Clark - wait to see what grows/flowers that you like before removing anything Shirley. Roses can be pruned as soon as the frosty weather passes - preferably prune in the morning. There are plenty of sites that show you how/when to prune various plants.
Hi Shirley,I think the bulbs in the first photos are daffodils,, grape hyacinth which are blue flowers and tulips and also snow drops, it will lovely to see what plants you have there already so it's a case of wait and see I'm afraid happy gardening
