Clivia has a flower coming - what next?
I have a Clivia that my husband rescued a few years ago from a back garden which was under snow at the time. That year, it flowered like mad but since then I've had nothing.
Last year I decided to leave it outside under the car port from October, it's still there now but this morning I noticed the beginnings of a bud!! Yippee, but what now - shall I bring it indoors yet, or leave it outside for a while longer? We are on the South coast so the worst we've had this Winter has been -2. I don't want to ruin it by warming it up unnecessarily.
Anyone?

How tall is the flower stem? If you bring it in too soon the flower opens too low down, BUT -4 is forecast for tonight so I would bring it in somewhere warmer.
my clivia spends most of its life in a cool greenhouse but I'm enjoying it in the house at the moment as its in full flower, I also live down in the south.
It's only tiny at the moment so I'll move it somewhere less cold but not quite indoors for a while.
cheers!
I last had flowers on mine 3 years ago. I did put the pot outside in the summer, but it didn't like it, so now its back in the hall producing lots of green leaves.
They are very tolerant.
Yippee! I have a beautiful Clivia in full bloom at last. I bought it into the house a couple of weeks ago and it put on a bit of height, then started opening up. At least I know what to de next year now!
