Is February an ok month for planting bargains from local nursery?
in Talkback
so yesterday down my local nursery there were plenty of things like crocus, primulas, muscari, Scilla, aconitum and chionodoxa. As I didn't plant any spring bulbs last autumn, will these plants be OK to buy and plant out to fill in lots of space in my borders even though we still have plenty of frosty nights ahead. Even in somerset where I live.
im a bit impulsive when it comes to good displays near the front of the nursery, so i'm trying not to waste my money this time if the plants I pick up are going to get a shock going outside without any cover in my north facing garden

If they are growing plants in pots, they will be OK to pop out of pots and plant the whole thing in the ground. If they are still just dried up bulbs with no growth, I would give them a miss.
