Are these Pyracantha Firethorn healthy?
Hi everyone
I planted these Pyracantha Firethorn out of pots around May last year.
The growth wasn't as much as I'd imagined on most of them. Only 2 of them grew how I expected, they were located in the shade of the shed. The others are in more open positions.
Most of the others are still little more than just the stem. Is this normal / do they still look healthy?
Thanks

Hi there PTP. I inherited a tiny pyracantha seedling in a pot with my current garden. Was very slow growing to start with and rather straggly looking. But totally agree with Hazel come the main growing season and on into summer they will put on a lot of growth and flowers and berries in time. You will be well rewarded
They probably spent the last growing season getting their roots established in their new home ... they'll start romping away before very long - I'd give them a sprinkling of Fish Blood and Bone around the roots any time now
