Which shrub - red fuchsia-like flowers "wrong" leaves, & thorns?
in Talkback
We left behind a lovely shrub, with long arching thorny stems, many shooting from the base, carrying lines of red, fuchsia-like flowers which hung below the branches. The leaves reminded me of hawthorn - fairly tough, lobed.
I thought I'd identified it in the past as a flowering redcurrant, but I can't now see anything hat looks like what I want if I google "flowering redcurrant" it's also not the fuchsia they use for hedges in Ireland.
What did I used to own?
