Plastic boards
I noticed an article in the March issue of Garders' World that said using plastic boards when making raised beds is a good idea for s reasons. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain these boards and what they are exactly ?

Fascia boards for a builders merchant or DIY. i don't think they wI'll be as cheap as scaffold boards though.
Probably cheaper if you can get them second hand or from a skip - otherwise I'd stick to scaffold boards or similar.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I wouldn't have thought they were very robust for a raised bed - unless you're only making it one plank in height and a short length. They're pretty flimsy.
Fencing timber is far better - or the scaffold boards as mentioned.

You're right Fairy , very thin. Scaffold boards if you just want one layer or fix two or three 4 to 5" boards together.
Agree, facia boards are far too flimsy. I think the article is referring to recycled plastic planks. These are available in all kinds of thicknesses and sizes, even posts. Here are a couple of suppliers google just found:

. Those prices are fairly high for something recycled Bob, though they do look great. When I win the lottery

LesT2 I think the others are quite right with the scaffold/fence boards
.
They'd probably be worth the investment if you knew exactly what you needed, didn't need to fit a particular space, and didn't want any maintenance.
I presume they don't split readily when you fix them together......
I can see the attraction - you have to work within your own budget though. Don't forget to factor in the cost of the fixings as well as the materials
