This is my statue, that gives a focal point to this part of my garden. This was taken in the summer, Wally had just been re-instated after I had relaid his stone circle and and added the smaller one for the arbour. He got his name from his daft expression and I like the moss and algae as it gives him a look of great age instead of that of a lump of concreteimage So yes, I do like statues, if well chosen and not too grandiose for their situation.

  • Love your garden Yvie, very pretty. I think a fairy statue would look lovely there too. Agree with Chicky, lovely 'talking' point for stories with your grandchildren.

Have been looking for small fairy statues to go by the bottom of our oak tree for when our little poppet is old enough to play in the garden image Have seen a lovely solar fairy fountain on a website. I think the website's called Primrose, but will check for you.

  • Ooh you weren't there just now Yvie and Buttercup days image

Buttercup, love the view from your garden. What a lovely spot to sit on summer days/evenings.

Buttercup, definitely don't want anything too grandiose.  I like the moss too.

Verdun apart from the ciggie they might think it's me taking a break from the weeding.image

Right, here she is, shes a bit smaller than I remembered so I'm thinking of looking for a small plinth to give her a bit of height especially when the summer planting takes off.  No name for her yet. Any ideas?

She's lovely Yvieimage.  How about calling her Avia - the fairy who takes care of all the birds in the garden.

Rb I like the sound of a large lantern - food for thoughtimage
