something is eating a new pear tree planted in May, the leaves have been chomped also some are folding over with a whitish web on them whats happeneing, have cut back afew to a bud is that ok

caterpillars of some sort, enjoying the new plant leaves. They probably won't do too much damage and will then turn into crysalis and then into moths or butterflies next year.
