The recommendation is to use new trays for seeds. Out of the question for me, so will have to disinfect the ones I use every year.
  • I'd use a weak solution of bleach if you want to make sure any spores are eliminated @gerddi.ephraim but definitely reuse the trays...a total waste to keep using new ones.

  • I've never even washed my seed trays and pots and have no problem with damping off. The only time I used to get damping off was when I used water from the water butts to water the seeds rather than tap water.

There is no need to disinfect trays or pots - a quick wash in warm soapy water, dry and store. Job done.

Soap and hot water was good enough for Granny 😉 ... and her plant pots had to make to with cold water from the garden tap and a bristle brush.

Didn’t seem to cause a problem or either 😆

I’ve never cleaned a pot or tray, or used a propagator or gro lites.
Those who know me will know how many seeds I sow in a year.

You’ve got to be joking ... my granny got everyone in Leighton Buzzard recycling, collecting milk bottle tops and newspaper and string ... she was famous for it ... she started recycling before there was a word for it 😆
