Thanks Hazel, I've been sat here looking through all of last summers pics......can't wait for the warm sunny days to arrive! Hubby looks after the lawn, it gets a daily brush in spring and summer!!
Must say that looking over the photos brightens up these dark dreary days of winter!
We too had a shady area when we first moved here 34 yrs ago. We had the tallest tree in the area growing in the centre or our lawn, some sort of conifer. Nothing would grow around it but it had a preservation order on it and we couldn' t even raise the canopy!! After tbe storm of '87' it got damaged and began leaning towards the lane , thankfully we were allowed to remove it.......and hey presto we could have our lawn!

It is worth it Bulkerb, nothing sets off flowerbeds like a beautiful lawn, sadly my garden is too shady for a lawn like that but I do my best.
