  • Yes, you are right that our weather is a bit kinder than in most of the U.K. - no ice yet this winter and frog spawn appeared in our pond today. If anything we are short on sunshine this winter (like most areas I believe). My GH is not heated, and is around 5 degrees in the morning and rises to almost 10 by mid afternoon. However my early attempts at growing seeds has not been successful probably due to lack of day light hours. I will hold on to the Dahlia tubers for a few more weeks before planting in the cold GH. However can anyone tell me how many tubers I should put in a large concrete pot about 10" - 12" across the top when I do eventually plant them - for a good display (I have noted your comments regarding weighting the pots with stones in the base Posy, thank you all.
