  Thanks for the tips. The advice on seed packets often seems very generic. I bet if I followed it more I might have more success (!) but I much prefer the advice from people on here, and am grateful for it.

  Many of us know what we're talking about but the seed packers also know and their advice is generally good.  Unless we know better.
