HI all ,iv got a south facing wall and room for a cherry tree,im hoping to fan it or espalier i think you call it , i would like a sweet black eat of the tree type ,in the shop this morning they were ??1:40 for 4 ounces,so i want to plant and grow our own, now can it be done this is a new one for me and i,ll need all the advise i can get as to which ones have been tried so far if poss Manyofem Alan4711

Basically if you choose a self-fertile one like Sunburst which is grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock like Gisela 5, you can grow it as a fan against a south-facing fence or wall, but they grow too big for espalier or cordon training. As you are in Pembrokshire the Gulf stream should keep your area warm enough as sweet cherries don't grow well in northern UK climes.
