Pansy problem

Anyone else have the same problem.  My pansies are in containers like every year and are looking quite pathetic - in fact I am not sure there is any life left in them.  They are shrivelled - I assume it is the dreadful winter we have had, too wet, not cold enough…. Does anyone think they might come back with a warm spring or are they too far gone?

  • My violas and Panolas are the same PG - I'm leaving them for a bit to see if they perk up in the spring - if they show any signs of life I might re-pot them and trim them up a bit to encourage them.

  • Thanks DFA, I shall wait to see if Spring can resuscitate them.  The tulips in the containers seem to have loved the weather so at least they have not let me down.

Don't think pansies like the wet weather this time of the year, prefer cold and frosty when with us they always came back strongly after the frost, this year ours aren't clever.

I've lost most of my violas and pansies. I think it's some sort of fungal disease. (spots on the leaves). They quite often get this but not until late spring. Could be the mild winter we've been having.

Get  annoyed with companies selling Winter Pansies this is so misleading as they dont flower in winter.

Yes - I put some in back in November and they've done nothing.  Hopeful for the next month or three.
