B3, I was thinking about procrastinating but I'm not so sure now? What do you think?

I have a large hole dug for a new half raised pond after removing the old leaky ground level one,but the chap who was going to build it charged way,way over my top budget so I am having to look around for other ideas.I had wanted it finished by the spring but have had so much trouble getting anybody willing to do it.This has been going on since the beginning of August, thinking I would get an early start and here we are in mid February with still just an 6ft x 5ft muddy hole, and that was dug by a friend and myself!!

  • Oooh that's full of possibilities!!!  If you can dig that hole I bet you can turn it into a pond without out builder ....... probably not as sophisticated a pond as a builder would make, but .......

I'm thinking of a fibreglass preformed pond half in/half out of the ground with a small wall round itwith capping stones round the edge. The old pond was right in the ground was was difficult for me to get at for cleaning etc. and being at soil level dirt just ran into it.As I cannot really do it all myself as I would have have in previous years and don't have transport for getting materials in for the job hence the need for a builder.

As you say it does have possibilities!
