Aloe Variegata

My Aloe Variegata had 2 main stems and was pretty healthy - when it fell off of the windowsill. It has split in to 2 and I suspect it has a little root rot. What should I do? Try to callous it (no idea how to do this) or just plant it back up?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

    ouch.

If it were mine, I'd cut it back hard ( to reduce stress ) and repot. Maybe wait for a second / opinion though.

  • I am gutted - it originally belonged to my father in law so just hoping I can save it image

Thanks for advice - am hopeful for the top pic plant as it has roots coming out higher in the plant.

They're pretty tough plants, think of where they grew in the wild, I'm sure it's salvageable.

  • I would cut off any rotten root, then leave it for a few days to allow the wound to callous over, then replant. Aloes soon grow new roots.Resume watering in Spring.

  • Thank you both - I will do that today

    Wish me luck
