Virginia creeper
I had planned on planting a virginia creeper along my new fence for the lovely autumn colour, however I read that it is quite destructive and can pull out fence panels, destroy gutters and so on.
Is there a slightly less invasive climber with nice autumn colour that would not destroy my fence?

What are the dimensions of the fence and which way does it face? Is it a windy or sheltered spot and what is the soil like?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Clay soil, partial shade, south-east facing.
Sheltered.
as with most things, if it's kept under control it'll be fine.
Parthenocissis Quinquifolia ( Viginia Creeper ) is pretty vigorous, so keep an eye on it. P. Henryana is less so.
That looks much better Hostafan, I don't want to spawn a monster. It says it colours better in sun so I may put that on the sunny fence and have camelias and chaenomeles on the shady fence. Lovely thank you
