veg trug or not..

As I am now getting on a bit and find gardening on my knees okay until I want to get up and also bending down difficult I had thought of getting a veg trug to grow fruit and veg in.Having looked around at the many and varied I wondered what others find good to use.Don't want a huge one as my garden is not that big and would rather have something well off the floor.Hope this is the right forum for this as I don't want to make an expensive mistake buying the wrong sort of thing as a pension doesn't stretch far. Thanks in advance folks.

I'd never heard of a veg trug, so I looked them up. Found this blog. https://vegtruggrower.wordpress.com/page/3/  They look good for elderly people, people in wheelchairs and people with small garden who want to grow veg. But look quite pricey.

I have seen them, and agree they look great, but as BL says, very pricey.

If you can afford to, go for it.

That one would be better for plants, but I think the V shaped one is for people in wheelchairs to get their knees under.

My wife fancied one for growing herbs in because she thought it looked more like a piece of garden furniture.  We got one at our local garden centre, and returned it the following day.  The construction was terrible.  Many of the pieces of wood were split, nothing was pre-drilled and the instructions were all pictograms which seemed to be copies of copies, virtually impossible to decipher.

When we took it back the reaction at their Customer Service Desk said it all.  They simply asked which item it was and then called across for it to be taken away with words along the lines of "It's another one being returned"
