Gardening Tool design help

Hi everyone, Been given a brief for my university project to design a hand held garden tool. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or problems with gardening tools that need solving? Any feedback would be incredibly valued Thanks!

1. does your university give you a user specification? i.e. are you targeting the old / disabled / young / trendy / affluent?
2. does the specification include the use of electronics or fuel? Or by hand held do you mean hand powered too?
3. does the specification include costings? (i.e. either the production or retail costs so that we know what kind of tool you are aiming at rather than give you ideas for a hand held that is not useful to your needs)
Personally my hand operated petrol powered strimmer is far too heavy for me to use for a long period of time and would be wonderful if it were lighter and had a better counter balance.
